Octonauts Cake
Octonauts Cake with GUP A submarine, Barnacles, Kwazii and Peso.
Also features an injured shark, porcupine puffer fish, snot sea cucumber and selection of kelp fish, starfish, seahorses etc.
Rich chocolate cake with chocolate ganache. The GUP A is made from rice crispy cake. All decorations are handmade from sugar modelling paste.

Noah’s Ark Cake
A set of two cakes made for Noah’s Ark Pre-School’s 20th Birthday celebration.
Both versions of the cake were vanilla madeira cake with a rainbow design but the internal pattern was created in two different ways.

Undersea Birthday Cake
A very special Birthday Cake to celebrate the 18th Birthday of Nippers Nursery. Their crab logo was a key element of the cake design with smaller nipper crabs to represent the children. Lots of other undersea creatures were added and also shells which were hand-painted in slightly brighter tones than the Undersea Wedding Cake I recently made. All the decorations were edible.
The three tiers were vanilla with raspberry and vanilla filling, chocolate with rich chocolate buttercream and lemon with lemon curd and buttercream.

Brambley Hedge
One of my favourites – my younger son’s 1st Birthday cake. A Debbie Brown design – I knew as soon as I saw this I had to make it!
Vanilla madeira cake with vanilla buttercream and sugarpaste. All models are made from sugar modelling paste. The cake and the models are all handpainted.
This was the first cake I made which featured a ladybird.

Treasure Island
Treasure Island Cake – Chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream and red cherry jam filling.
The island is covered in sugarpaste with the models (pirate with hook and sword, parrot, treasure, bottle of grog with message, spade, map and shark) made from sugar modelling paste. The palm tree trunk was also made of modelling paste with the leaves made from sugar flower paste. The sea is royal icing. A little brown sugar was added as sand.

Playgroup 20th Anniversary Cake
I was given little guidance other than that the logo was very important to them and should be prominently displayed. I decided on a happy, garden theme as it was summer and to include small models of a range of pre-school toys.
Vanilla madeira cake with raspberry jam, vanilla buttercream and sugarpaste. All toys are made from sugar modelling paste. The logo was hand-drawn onto rice paper on a sugarpaste plaque.

Football
My design for a joint birthday party for 4 boys who enjoy football. The boys’ features were modelled on a photograph of the boys and the scarf, kit etc were done in their school colours. The ‘grass’ on the board was hand-painted onto sugarpaste and the school badge was hand-drawn with edible ink.
